Hydroman!

My favourite thing about the collectable soft plastic miniatures movement is the introduction of clear figures. They are just so bloody cool! They look great, don't require more painting, and they are free from the gunky sluge factory paint that the manufacturers use, preserving their nice details (to the limits of the soft plastic anyway). So here is an interesting figure, a hybrid, with clear parts and normal parts. Its Hydroman from Wizkids' Marvel Heroclix range, one of Spiderman's enemies. Its funny how he ends up with enemies like him, and coupled with Sandman, they turn into mud! hahahah!

This was a quick job, I primed the opaque sections with a clear prime (the glass and tile medium) then painted it up. The face was an almost featureless blob after the think skin paint that they use but the eye were fantastic so I didn't paint over the eyes. You can fake the contours that were removed by the paint by highlighting and shadowing over the smooth areas and it works out relatively nicely. One more for the slowly growing superheros collection.
