Had a game on Sunday with Mike and Corbon, Boon umpiring. Its a refight of part of the Battle of Five Armies, as see in the Hobbit, by Tolkien, the prequel to the more famous Lord of the Rings. The rules we used are a home brew by Boon called Conquerer of the Anicent World. It was originally designed for ancient battles but with minor tweaks its all set for a fantasy battle with men, dwarves, elves, goblins, wolves and wargs.
Corbon took the army of Goblins wolves and wargs against Mike who controled the humans and dwarves. The men and dwarves were vastly outnumbered by the goblins and held them off as long as they could. I controlled the elves who arrived too late and were too far off to help them. Eventually the humans and dwarves were overrun by the goblins. When hope was lost for them, I tried to pull back to the river for protection but the goblins rushed into my elves. Although vastly superior, one flank of the elven line collapsed and poor morale tests left the battle line compromised and a loss was inevitable. At which point we broke for dinner.
